If you're a beer enthusiast, a budding brewer or just a lover of fine ales, you're going to love this. The Coopers brewery tour will take you through virtually every step of the production process for both beer and DIY Beer. You will start at our museum where you'll meet your guide Frank, an expert in everything Coopers related! After learning about the history of Coopers in the museum, you'll visit our onsite power station on the way to the brewhouse, then check out the bottling hall before heading back to the museum for a beer tasting and a chat with Frank.
The walking tour takes about an hour and covers about 1km, all wheelchair accessible. Fully enclosed shoes must be worn and you must be aged 18 or over and all safety instructions must be followed.
Proceeds from the brewery tour ticket price go to the Coopers Brewery Foundation, which then distributes funds to various charities.
Brewery Tour FAQ
What will I see on the tour?
You’ll get a grand tour of our brewery at Regency Park and we’ll take you step by step through the production process of both our famous beers and homebrew products. You’ll visit the museum, brewhouse and bottling hall and learn all about the history of the brewery and the Cooper family along the way.
Do I get to taste the beer?
Absolutely! At the end of your tour, your tour guide Frank will guide you through a tasting of our famous ales and lagers and you can ask him as many questions as you like!
How long does the tour go for?
The tour usually lasts anywhere between 1.5 and 2 hours… it really depends on how long you can keep our tour guide Frank talking for while you’re enjoying your tasting!
How do I get in to the brewery?
Due to the South Road Superway, there is no right turn (travelling north) from South Road in to the brewery’s main entrance. In this case, please proceed to the U-turn point on South Road before Days Road. If you’re coming from the east, enter via the Naweena Road entrance, stop at security and ask to be directed to the Brewery Tour.
How many people will be on the tour?
We keep our brewery tours to a maximum of 15 people to ensure a great experience for everyone and plenty of time for questions along the way. Our tour guide Frank is a fountain of beer knowledge and there’s not much he doesn’t know about our beers and brewing!
Will I be able to hear the tour guide?
Yes! In some areas our brewery can get a little noisy, so we provide headphones so that you can hear our tour guide as he talks through all the different aspects of the brewery’s history and the brewing process.
How do I redeem my voucher?
When booking online, simply select the date you would like and the number of people joining the tour, then select ‘Add promo code / voucher’ and enter the voucher number. If you have any issues you can give us a call on (08) 8440 1800.
Can I visit Coopers Brewery without joining a tour?
Unfortunately not. The brewery is a fully functioning manufacturing facility and all visitors must be accompanied by a member of staff. Our tour guides are only available for scheduled tour times, so please make sure you book your tour before you visit!
Can I buy merchandise?
We’re working on a range of new merch to be available to at the museum for when you do your tour. You’ll also be able to buy it online. Keep your eyes peeled on our social channels as we’ll let everyone know when it’s ready!
Can I book in for lunch after the tour?
As our brewery is a fully functioning manufacturing facility, there is no restaurant or café on site. However,
The Coopers Alehouse at Gepps Cross is only about a 10-minute drive from the brewery and have a great menu plus our full range of beers if you’d like to enjoy lunch after the tour. Make sure you book a table though as they do get very busy!
Why do I have to wear flat, fully enclosed shoes?
It’s a health and safety issue. Our brewery is a fully functioning manufacturing facility and safety is our priority. Flat, fully enclosed shoes are a mandatory in order to take part in the tour. You can leave your pluggers in the car and change back in to them after the tour… 😉
