Ocean Alley Ale a dream collaboration in the making

This month we excitedly released this year’s greatest hit, Coopers Ocean Alley Ale, a collaboration brew with Aussie music megastars Ocean Alley.

But how did this all come about? Well Ocean Alley have been supporters of Coopers for a long time now and us fans of their music. The band often requested Coopers on their tour rider to drink backstage at their growing gigs. Over time Coopers and Ocean Alley’s partnership turned into exclusive gigs and secret shows as well as making sure the guys always had a regular supply of beer at home, on stage or when touring abroad.

It was only natural that we took the partnership to the next phase and get a collab brew going. But where do you even start with something like this? Well, the band knew what their top Coopers beers were and what they had been drinking a lot of recently and that formed the basis of Ocean Alley Ale.

Ocean Alley worked with our brew team to help shape the taste profile (tropical pale) and alcohol content (3.8%ABV). The band hangout in the Northern Rivers and write a lot of their music up there so wanted a beer that matched the weather, the attitude and outlook of them practicing at their place.

What we ended up with in Ocean Alley Ale is a very sessionable tropical pale ale. We think that it will set you and your mates up for sunny afternoons that roll into balmy nights, Northern Rivers style.

Coopers Ocean Alley Ale is naturally conditioned like all other Coopers ales explains Jon Meneses, Brewing and Supply Chain Manager, ‘This aromatic ale comes from the same pedigree of Coopers renowned naturally conditioned beers. In true Coopers style it has a cloudy appearance and by using Alora and Riwaka hops it has a distinctive passion fruit, yuzu, melon, and stone fruit aroma.’

Since Ocean Alley Ale’s release we’ve seen music and beer fans giving it a lot of love and it could become one of our fastest selling limited edition brews ever.
