Got a question about Coopers Mild Ale 3.5%? Hopefully we’ve answered it here:

What is mid-strength beer?

“Mid-strength beer sits between light and full-strength, typically around 3–3.5% ABV,” says Nick Sterenberg, operations manager at Coopers Brewery. “Mid-strength beer is brewed with the same ingredients as full-strength beer but crafted for moderation, offering flavour without the higher alcohol.”

Coopers Mild Ale 3.5% is a standout example of mid-strength beer — smooth, naturally conditioned and brewed with the same care as every Coopers ale. When publicans asked Dr Tim Cooper to create a lower-alcohol version of Pale Ale, Mild Ale was born. Today it’s recognised as one of the best mid-strength beers in Australia, giving drinkers a sessionable option that doesn’t compromise on taste.

How many calories are in mid-strength beer?

“The exact number varies by brand, but a mid-strength beer typically contains fewer calories than a full-strength due to the lower alcohol content,” says Nick Sterenberg, operations manager at Coopers Brewery. “With its 3.5% ABV, Coopers Mild Ale naturally sits on the lighter side for calories, while still delivering full-bodied flavour.”

What ingredients are used in Coopers Mild Ale?

Coopers Mild Ale is brewed with Australian malted barley, Pride of Ringwood and Saaz hops, Coopers’ own ale yeast, and water. Like all Coopers ales, it’s naturally conditioned for a fresh, preservative-free finish.

Because it’s brewed from malted barley, Coopers Mild Ale is not gluten-free.

What foods pair well with Coopers Mild Ale?

The smooth malt profile and gentle bitterness of Coopers Mild Ale make it versatile with food. Coopers Mild Ale pairs well with classic pub fare, think schnitzels, burgers and fish and chips, as well as lighter dishes like grilled chicken, salads or pizza. Its balance of flavour and easy-drinking character make it a reliable companion to almost any meal.

How should I serve Coopers Mild Ale for the best experience?

“I like to serve Coopers Mild Ale cold and pour it into a clean glass to appreciate its natural conditioning and golden haze,” says Nick Sterenberg, operations manager at Coopers Brewery. “The carbonation and aroma come alive in glassware, delivering a crisp, refreshing mid-strength beer that’s built for relaxed sessions.”
