Coopers Original Pale Ale has been named one of Australia’s top craft beers in the prestigious annual GABS awards held over the weekend.
Coopers Original Pale Ale jumped three places to 8th position among Australia’s “hottest 100” craft beers for 2022.
The brewery’s best selling green label was joined by four other Coopers beers in the coveted Top 100 list as voted by thousands of beer lovers across Australia and New Zealand.
Coopers Sparkling Ale, XPA, Pacific Pale Ale and Best Extra Stout also made the list with some significant improvements recorded on the previous year’s results.
The strong GABS results follow Coopers recently being named the 4th largest beer brand in Australia and the only independent Australian brewery within the Top Ten list of Australia’s best selling beer brands in 2022, according to a market report by research company IRI.
Coopers General Manager Michael Shearer said while Coopers was Australia’s largest independent family-owned brewery, it remained committed to its craft origins dating back to 1862 in producing high quality, great tasting Australian beer.
“The annual GABS awards are fiercely contested by a large number of breweries and the quality of craft beer in the running is exceptionally high,” Mr Shearer said.
“It’s therefore fantastic to see five Coopers beers in the Top 100.
“We thank everyone who took the time to vote for Coopers and who continue to inspire us to brew the best Australian beer we can.”
