The iconic Coopers Original Pale Ale has cemented its place as one of Australia’s best craft beers.

Australia, you showed up for Coopers again – and the results speak for themselves: Coopers Original Pale Ale landed at #2, with five of our beers scoring places in the top 100.

Coopers Brewery’s best-selling beer ranked second on the prestigious GABS Hottest 100 list of craft beers in 2025.

Coopers Original Pale Ale’s podium position was voted by drinkers across the country, beating off strong competition from 143 breweries.

The win, announced in a national countdown over the weekend, cements a meteoric rise in the national beer charts for Coopers Original Pale Ale, after it secured 2nd place in 2024 and 7th place in 2023.

Original Pale Ale was joined by 4 other Coopers beers in the top 100, marking one of the best results for Coopers Brewery in recent years. 

Coopers Sparkling Ale finished in 44th spot (down from 34th), with Coopers Australian Lager coming in at 77 (#67 last year), Coopers Best Extra Stout in 90th position (#109 last year), and Coopers XPA at 98 (#70 last year).

Coopers Brewery Managing Director Michael Shearer said the result was a celebration of 
Australian-owned and made beer.

“Coopers Original Pale Ale has long been one of Australia’s favourite beers, and we’re honoured to sit so close to the top of GABS Hottest 100 for 2025,” he said.

“Original Pale Ale is perfectly balanced, distinctive and simply tastes great – the ideal choice for a refreshing drink in summer and all year round.

“It’s fantastic to see Aussie drinkers throwing their support behind locally made and owned beers.

“To those who voted for Coopers – thank you for your support. We really appreciate it.”

Voted by around 50,000 beer drinkers, the GABS Hottest 100 Aussie Beers of 2025 was the 18th edition of the countdown.
