Meet the Ginger of the Family: Coopers launches its first Ginger Beer
There’s a new member joining the Coopers family, and this one comes with a spicy kick.
Australia’s largest independent brewery has launched Coopers Ginger Beer, the first ginger beer in the sixth-generation family brewery’s history.
Naturally brewed with real ginger and no artificial flavours, Coopers Ginger Beer is brewed traditionally like a beer to create a crisp, refreshing drink that balances sweetness with ginger heat.
Zesty citrus and bold ginger spice aromas are complemented by authentic malt flavours, producing a well-rounded and easy-drinking ginger beer with a spicy finish.
Coopers Brewery Managing Director Michael Shearer said the launch represented an exciting new addition to the Coopers family.
“This isn’t an RTD dressed up to look like a ginger beer, it’s the real deal,” Mr Shearer said.
“Using real ginger, no artificial flavours, and brewed traditionally like a beer, it balances sweetness and ginger heat for ultimate drinkability.
“The result is a well-rounded, easy-drinking and refreshing ginger beer with authentic malt flavours and finished off with a spicy kick.”
At 4% ABV, Coopers Ginger Beer is made with Coopers Pale Malt and Pride of Ringwood Hops and has been created as a refreshing new option for social occasions, after-work drinks and warmer days.
Sydney, come meet the ginger of the family
To celebrate the launch, Coopers is taking over The Four in Hand in Sydney on Friday 23 October, with the pub pouring the first tap of Coopers Ginger Beer in New South Wales.
Under the banner “Meet the ginger of the family”, customers will have the chance to be among the first in NSW to try the new brew, with a complimentary schooner of Coopers Ginger Beer on arrival.
A ginger-themed celebration
The ginger theme won’t stop at the bar. The Four in Hand will also serve up ginger-inspired food specials, while a ginger-themed meat tray raffle will add a distinctly pub-style twist to the launch celebrations.

It’s a fitting way to introduce a beer Coopers drinkers have been asking for.
“Ginger beer has strong appeal among beer drinkers in Australia and particularly among those under 35 years of age,” Mr Shearer said.
“Our drinkers have been requesting one from Coopers for some time, and we’re proud to deliver a great-tasting alcoholic ginger beer that meets our high-quality standards and style.”
Coming to a tap near you
Coopers Ginger Beer launches on tap at selected venues across New South Wales and South Australia during October, ahead of a broader national keg roll-out in the coming months.
For the launch, Coopers has teamed up with independent Australian-owned Sydney Brewery, which will contract brew Coopers Ginger Beer in 50-litre kegs, allowing Coopers to introduce the new style alongside its ongoing ale, stout and lager production at Regency Park.
Be among the first to try it
If you’re in Sydney on Friday 23 October, there’s only one thing left to do.
Head to The Four in Hand, meet the ginger of the family and raise a schooner to the newest Coopers brew.
